Korea Republic 2-1 Portugal
Korea Republic eliminates Uruguay and qualifies with a 2-1 win against Portugal at the Education City stadium in Al-Rayyan, Qatar.
Korea Republic needed a win today in order to surpass Uruguay in the standings and make it out of the Group. By the end of the first half, the game was tied at 1-1 thanks to goals from Ricardo Horta in the 5th minute for Portugal and Kim Young-gwon in the 27th for Korea Republic.
The Second half was pretty even until stoppage time. Korea Republic’s main player Heung-min Son was able to hold off three defenders while his teammate got into position. He then passed the ball through to his open man, and Hwang Hee-chan was able to slot it past the keeper to send Korea Republic into the last 16.
Switzerland 3-2 Serbia
The Swiss advance to the R16 as the second-place team in Group G with their win today at Stadium 974 in Ras Abu Aboud, Qatar.
Switzerland went into this game knowing that a win would guarantee their advancement into the knockout stage.
The Swiss scored first thanks to star man Xherdan Shaqiri in the 20th, but it wouldn’t be long until Serbia’s main player Aleksander Mitrović tied the game up in the 26th minute. Serbia would then take the lead thanks to Juventus star Dušan Vlahović 35th, but this time Switzerland would be the one tying the game up in the 44th minute thanks to Breel Embolo.
It was a rough game with a couple of arguments among players breaking out towards the end, but the Swiss were able to pull through and get the win in the 48th minute thanks to Remo Freuler.

Cameroon 1-0 Brazil
In a poor display by Brazil, Cameroon was able to defeat them 1-0 but unfortunately, this would not change the standings as Cameroon was still eliminated.
Uruguay 2-0 Ghana
Ghana might not have won the game, but they seemed just as happy with making sure Uruguay was eliminated as well, as this would be revenge enough for Ghana as to what happened in their previous World Cup encounter with Uruguay.
